Lauren & Adam, 2012

Lauren & Adam got in touch last year to ask whether we knew anyone who shot super 8 film in Scotland.

We don't, but it may surprise you to learn that beneath this tranquil, anglicised exterior pumps the blood of a Scotsman*, much to our excitement we persuaded them to fly us up!

They were married at the beautiful Balbegno Castle - an amazing place in a picturesque corner of Kincardineshire, grand & ancient, but cosy & intimate too. It's owned by the Gladstones, the people behind Pedlars; the interiors are as beautiful as you'd expect.

The wedding party had the run of the house (castle) for a week, so the day had the kind of relaxed, familial atmosphere that you'd usually find at wedding in a family home.

Lauren & Adam were joy to be around and we had loads of fun shooting alongside the lovely & talented Lisa Devine. You can see the beautiful photos on Lisa's blog here.

* Blood contains at least 75% Scottishness.

Happy Anniversary Karen & Mark!

It seems like only t'other day that we filmed our good friends Karen & Mark's wedding in Yorkshire but it's been 2 whole years!

Some other great friends, Sophie & Tristan hired a vintage Ford Zodiac as a surprise wedding present, I hitched a lift with Tris in the car and was there to capture Karen's reaction when we turned up at her parent's house.

Congratulations guys!

Katie & Billy, 2012

Katie & Billy were an awesome couple to shoot - stylish, charismatic and very much in love!

They were married at a quaint Norman church in the Kent countryside, with the reception in the stunning grounds of Billy's parent's house.

It was a sumptuously stylish, laid back day, full of beautiful surprises, culminating in a brilliant firework display.

We weren't sure whether the fireworks would come out on super 8, but we locked the shutter open on a camera, filmed at a very low frame-rate and we think the results provide a cool ending to the film.

Katie's dress was by Elie Saab, Moments Captured captured some beautiful moments - check out their photos here.

This film was featured on the Boho Weddings blog, see what they had to say about it here.

Sophie & Tristan, 2010

It seems like only a few months ago that we flew out to the beautiful island of Ko Lanta in Thailand for our good friends Sophie & Tristan's wedding.

The wedding party and guests took up residence at Narima Resort - it was a magical time in a magical place, the hosts went above and beyond to be incredibly warm, helpful and welcoming.

The ceremony took place on an unspoilt beach, a short long-tail boat ride down the coast.

It's been two and a bit years since and Sophie & Tristan are back in the UK after what looks like an amazing year living in Thailand.

In celebration of them coming back, we thought it'd be nice to revisit their wedding- one of the first we ever filmed.

Back to 1976

For Christmas last year I had the original super 8 film of my parent's wedding transfered to video and a did a little editing.

They were married in the legendary hot summer of '76, and right now I thought it'd be nice to see a little sunshine... and some 70's fashion.

We love working with old footage, if you've got some films that you might like us to edit, please get in touch.

The full-length version of this film can be found here.

Dream, dream, dream!

Dreaming of sunnier climes today as it pours it down (still!) here in the UK...showing a still from our wedding film of Mr & Mrs Sophie Crichton, her looking film star gorgeous here at her wedding in Thailand last year.
